Hello,

I was thinking about our Ohio clients a few days ago, trying to find one word to describe them all and I found it! It's "PICKY" ! Why is that ? Well... because we teach them to be like that ! In order to have a satisfied customer we have imposed to ourselves not to advertise our ongoing work, but to criticize it. When we design a website draft we present many design versions to the customers and we teach them how to review our work. We also do not accept a positive review after the client has only given a quick glance to the design draft. We always advise them to take their time and analyze the design thoroughly until they are completely sure that they love the way their new website looks! You would probably think that this means more work for the design team but actually it's the other way around. Think about it, if the client says "Wow great design!" and you start cutting the PSD file and implement it and then you find yourself having to redo something ... wouldn't this take longer ?

We like our web design customers very "PICKY" :)

Regarding the development we always give access to our clients to our development servers so that they can see the progress of the project. We also advise them to send us any comments even if some will be just "newbie talk" they might, just as well, work as very good testers. Also they will always come with suggestions, that will be implemented right away and this will save you lots of time after you thought the project was finished but the client "just remembered" he he has some "minor changes to do"!

Another advice that I have for all web developers in Ohio reading this: Always split a project into multiple stages and send detailed reports to your customer regarding the progress of your work. This will make the customer feel like you haven't abandoned him and his website and also give you one point for "Communication Skills"!

Thank you again for reading this and don't hesitate to tell me your opinion!
